November News!
Tentative Happenings in our Class

Greetings!
November is here and we will be learning many new things. We will talk about what it means to VOTE for something! We will talk about the weather changes and how it affects nature and animals. We will dedicate the month to learning about our Native American Indian friends and Pilgrims. We have a Tepee (or Tipi) in our classroom. We will learn many things about the first thanksgiving through books, stories, hands-on activities, music, arts and more. I may keep the artwork in school for a while since November is a short month and they love to see their artwork hanging!
The letter “F” is appropriate for this week as feathers will be in our artwork multiple times! We will be singing songs of thanks and praise for all we have. We include American Sign Language in many of our songs. It is amazing how quickly your children acquire that language!
I am setting up a “Show and Tell” schedule. More information to follow!
I am also setting up a “Mystery Guest” schedule! More information to follow!
Please review papers and artwork when they come home. Those papers tell a lot of what we are doing and what they remember from the day. Part of everyday are the skills of cutting, using glue, and strengthening fine and gross motor skills which are so important to growth and development. If you have any questions, just email me!
On Monday, November 11 there is no school (Veteran’s Day) Let us remember our brave soldiers.
There is no school on Thursday, November 28, and Friday the 29th for Thanksgiving break.
Warm wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving!
Miss Dottie and Sister Shiny

P.S. I forgot to mention that on November 1, we learned about All Saint’s Day/All Soul’s Day through the storytelling and music of Sister Kathy. It is a sight to behold when she and Sister Christine teach the children all about their religion. I am thankful for their teachings and wisdom. I am blessed to have Sr. Shiny working with me and all the Sisters who make this school what it is.
