November News!
Tentative Happenings in our Class

Week of November 4 - 8
One Monday, we will hear the story Duck for President, and our class will get the chance to vote in a mock election.  This week we will be creating colorful Fall owls and raccoon puppets in art, as we learn about nocturnal animals.  Our letter for this week is the letter “F”.  On Friday, we will have a special Patriotic parade at Flag time to honor all of our Veterans.
 

Week of November 11 – 15
No School on Monday, November 11.
This week we will hear the story, Our Class Is A Family, written by Shannon Olsen, and we will begin working on our class family picture book. Our letter this week is the letter “G”.
 

Week of November 18 - 22
This week we will begin learning about the first Thanksgiving. We will be hearing stories about the Pilgrims and their voyage on the Mayflower. In addition,  we will be learning about the Native American Indians.  We will hear the story, The Giving Treeand reflect on all for which we are Thankful.  Our letter for this week is the letter “H”.

 

Week of November 25 – 29
This week we will be making butter and cooking cornbread, as we prepare for our own Thanksgiving feast.  We will not be introducing a new letter this week.
                       

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Throughout the month of November, we will be learning about our Feelings.  We will continue to talk about appropriate ways to express our feelings, and the importance of being a good friend.
