March News!
Tentative Happenings in our Class

Week of March 3 - 7
As we breeze into the windy month of March, we will be learning about how air moves objects. It is said that March comes in like a LION and goes out like a LAMB.  We will be graphing the weather on schooldays and comparing the number of days with blustery cold weather (lion) to those calm warmer days (lamb). Wednesday, March 5 is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent.  Our letter this week is the letter "P". Reminder: Friday March 7 is Pajama Day!! Children are welcome to wear their pajamas to school with shoes, please no slippers.

Week of March 10 - 14
 This week we will be reviewing all the colors of the rainbow.  We will have fun mixing colors to create new colors. Our letter for this week is the letter "Q".  We will be making a colorful class quilt to decorate our bulletin board. 

Week of March 17 - 21
March 17th is St Patrick's Day. We will celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Monday.  We will hear the story of St. Patrick and enjoy a special green snack. Our letter for this week is the letter "R". We will be learning about Rockets and Spaceships as we begin our adventure into Outer Space. In Art, we will be making some very cool robots.

Week of March 24 - 28
 This week should be "Out of this World".  We will continue our learning adventure into Outer Space.  We will be learning about the Sun, Moon, Planets, and Stars. We will pretend to be Astronauts and "Blast Off" into Outer Space. Happy SPRING!!  Hopefully, by now we are enjoying some nice Spring – like weather.  Our letter this week is the letter "S".  We will continue preparing for Easter as we Pray More, Give More, Love More. 
              

Miss Beth's Final Note
Throughout the season of Lent, Sr Kathy will be coming into our class and sharing stories from the Bible about the life of Jesus.  A coloring sheet will be sent home each week with your child to share these stories with you.
           
            This month we will begin working on writing our names.  We will also be encouraging more self-help skills and independence.  We continue to encourage and reinforce the "I can do it!!!" attitude. In the words of one of our sweet students…. "Laughter makes hard things easier"
